In the serene atmosphere following a profoundly sacred morning, the Catholic Diocese of Katsina-Ala witnessed a double portion of grace. Shortly after the solemn and uplifted atmosphere of the priestly ordination of five new presbyters, the air was filled with a fresh wave of joy as His Excellency, Most Rev. Isaac Bundepuun Dugu, commissioned over thirty motorcycles destined for various pastoral units across the diocese.
Katsina-Ala, a rural Catholic diocese marked by vast, challenging topographies and distant outstations, has long felt the weight of logistical hurdles in the vineyard. Yet, through the tireless commitment and shepherd’s heart of His Excellency, Most Rev. Isaac Bundepuun DUGU, a transformative dawn has arrived. Recognizing that the mandate of evangelization requires both spiritual fervour and practical mobility, the Chief Shepherd’s untiring efforts to equip his flock have once again borne tangible fruit.
This monumental intervention was made possible through the generous sacrifices of the German-based international charity, Aid to the Church in Need (ACN). By extending a compassionate hand across borders, this benefactor agency has demonstrated the true essence of global Christian solidarity. Their selflessness provides far more than mere machinery; it offers a lifeline to remote communities, ensuring that distance no longer stands as a barrier to the Gospel.
The immediate impact of this gift was met with an outpouring of profound excitement and boundless jubilation, particularly among the catechists who are direct beneficiaries of these motorcycles. As foot soldiers of the faith who regularly traverse rugged paths to instruct, comfort, and gather the faithful, these dedicated men and women now possess the means to carry out their sacred duties with renewed vigour and ease. Their beaming smiles and songs of gratitude reflected a deep sense of relief and recognition.
